Overview

Helambu trekking is a popular destination for trekkers. As it is comparatively easier option for short trek. The scenic beauty and favorable climatic conditions are some of the factors to make trekkers drooled for this place. Helambu is located just72 kms away from Kathmandu in Northeast. Helambu lies in the lower slopes of Jugal Himal.. The elevation is lower, ranging between 800 to 3600 meters only. The temperature is moderate and warm which gives energy to trekkers to explore the beauty of Helambu. Even with a modest amount of trekking experience an individual can accomplish this destination smoothly. The highest altitude of only 3505 meters in this journey minimizes the possibilities of altitude sickness. The trekkers generally spend only half an hour at this place. Along the trekking, the experiences will be enriched with the variation of flora and fauna. The culture and traditions of the people is also another major achievement of a trekker. With the warm hospitality of the local people of Langtang region, the Langtang mountain range welcomes you. Helambu is the residence of Sherpa and dominated by Tamang. Still, the population of Chhetri and Bhramins are scattered along.

Day 1: Arrival to Kathmandu

When you arrive at TIA our one of the staff member will be there to receive you and escort you up to the hotel where you will be staying overnight.

Day 2: Sightseeing of Kathmandu Valley

On the second day, here in Nepal you will be taken for sightseeing of major places of Kathmandu valley. Kathmandu is the oldest city and the capital of Nepal. Here we can observe the greatness of world heritage sites. You can taste the local cuisines, local restaurants. In the evening our guide will help you to make necessary arrangements for Helambu trekking.

Day 3: Drive to Sundarijal and Trek to Chisapani ( 2300m)

Your day will start by having a warm and nutritious breakfast by 7.30 am. A van will be there to pick you up for your journey to Sundarijal. It will take a 30 mins to reach our destination Sundarijal is situated 15 kms northeast of Kathmandu. From there, we start our trek to Chisapani. Chisapani is a hill station which can be reached from lush green forest of Shivapuri National park. We can observe Langtang, Jugal and Ganesh Himal from here. National flower of Nepal (Rhododendron) welcomes you as it is spreaded all over the Shivapuri Forest.

Day 4: Trek from Chisapani to Kutumsang( 2446m)

On this day the journey will be of 6 hours. Along the village named Pati bhanjyang we reach to Chipling village, challenging weather of chipling village energizes you to explore some information about lifestyle, tradition and culture of people. From there we step uphill to Thodong Lama lodge and reach Kutumsang. We stay there for a night.

Day 5: Trek to Thadepati(3650m)

After having a morning breakfast we will headed to our next destination Thadepati .View of the mountain from Yurin danda is one of the great attractions of the trail. It is a trek day of 5 hours where we cross a pass of 3510 m altitude. Along the day, we will pass the beautiful rhododendron forest. At end of the trek, we will reach to a place called Thadepati which is at the highest altitude of the day. The stunning Himalayan ranges can be enjoyed from here.

Day 6: Trek from Thadepati to Tharkeghyang (2560 m)

This is the day of 6 hours journey. We pass the beautiful Melamchi village. The simplicity of the village life is stunning and beautiful. The Sherpa culture and tradition will leave a rich blend of spiritual influences. An overnight stay at Tharkeghyang. You can enjoy there by wearing the clothes that are locally available in Sherpa village which is very unique.

Day 7: Trek to Sermathang (2610m)

Approximate 5 hours will take to reach Sermathang. We will pass Buddhist monasteries, shortens and breathtaking meadows. Sermathang is a beautiful and rich village to those who are interested in culture and lifestyle. For Anthropology student, it is just a bliss to be in this village for an overnight stay.

Day 8: Trek to Melamchipul bazaar and return to Kathmandu

It is a hike of 4 hours and we reach to a village named Melamchibazar with altitude of 1100 meters. Melamchi Bazaar is famous for an Ayurvedic Dispensary. From there we can reach back to Kathmandu in an hour with drive.

Day 9: Rest day and refreshment

This is the perfect day to note down the mesmerizing memories of the whole Helambu trekking. Enjoy the food of Kathmandu, engage in shopping and make your documents ready for departure next day.

Day 10: Departure from Kathmandu

With all the rich memories you will be returning your home. Our representative will be there for you to drop at TIA.
