Overview

Langtang Valley Trek is one of the most accessible highland sanctuaries from the Capital City Kathmandu. From the alpine vegetation to the visible mountains, the lush jungles are just enough to satiate the thirst of visitors who have a very tight time schedule. The unique lifestyle of people, the alpine scenery, the mountain range, the vegetation along the trail is the pickles on the plate. After the British mountaineer Bill Tilman described the Langtang valley as the most beautiful valley in the world, this region has been in the limelight for the trekkers and nature lovers. Although, Langtang trekking is full of adventure and rich experience, it is not too far from the Kathmandu valley. After a night stay at Kathmandu valley which is itself a rich site for cultural and natural heritage, we can begin the Langtang trekking. The Langtang region is majorly occupied by the Tamang community; an ethnic group of mountains. The region is rich in flora and fauna. The whole journey is memorable because you can explore the culture of Tamang community in one hand and in other the beauty of Langtang National park is just ineffable. There is cheese factory too and the cheese is not normal one because it is made from the Yak milk; Yak is a unique mammal found in high Himalayas. After 2015, the conditions of Langtang region turned into worse. The loss of wildlife and humans occurred. The Langtang region is in the process of recovery. While, visiting Langtang region, one individual also will be contributing to this pristine region for recovery and healing. Musk deer, Monkeys, Pika, and National bird Danphe are the species which are most common inside Langtang National park. Although, these species are common here but if we talk about national scenario, these species are rare and much endangered. The green meadows will be covered with Yak grazing over there and the swifts of mountain winds will blow your exhaust and stress away. The whole valley is covered with flowers in summer. The region is near to the Tibet border and we can see a lot of influences in the culture and living style of people. In this region there are a lot of tea houses and local home stays. This trek is of moderate difficulty so that acclimatization won’t be a problem because for most of the times the trekkers would be less than 4000m. The gorges, the wilderness, the stupas, the people lifestyle we cross them all along with monasteries and Chhortens. After the devastating Earthquake of 2015, causing the loss of 300 lives, Langtang valley has been rebuilt and Langtang is now back in the business. The following itinerary is for those trekkers who would love to move in the trail comfortably and with more ease.

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu

This is the first day of your journey. You will arrive at International Airport of Nepal. Our representative will be there to welcome you. There are luxurious and comfortable hotels all over Kathmandu. You can meet your travel guide on this day. If you are early, you can go for shopping the trekking gears for which Thamel would be the best place. Check your insurance details and be clear about everything

Day 2: Sightseeing in Kathmandu

Kathmandu is the capital city of Nepal. The foods, the cultures, the heritages are unbelievable. Visit to the monasteries, temples are included in sightseeing, our guide will be there to guide you. You can enjoy the street foods, specially (Newari dishes) and at the evening you will being preparing for the next big day with the help of guide who will be with you throughout your trekking journey.

Day 3: Drive from Kathmandu –Dhunche (1966m)

After your desired breakfast at 7 am , your guide for your trek journey will come to receive you Almost after 8 hours of drive you will reach a place called Dhunche. Here the travel would be more comfortable with a land cruiser. The travel would be smooth upto a place named Trishuli bazaar but after that the road is gravel and rough experience of road will be turned on.

Day 4: Trek from Dhunche to Syabru gaun (2581m)

This day would be more comfortable with the lush jungles and descending ridges. The Syabru gaun is an amazing place. The sunset is amazing from here along with Himalayan range.

Day 5: Syabru Gaun to Lama Hotel (2470m)

This trail is very scenic and rich. The dense lush forests, a chance of encountering spotting yellow-throated martin, wild boar, Langur Monkey, Red Panda, and Himalayan Black bear is very high. Several waterfalls welcome you along with beautiful suspension bridges. It takes 6 hours on a trek.

Day 6: Lama Hotel To Langtang Village (3430m)

The trail ascends on this day. The trail is more stepper and dense forest is all way around. We reach ghoda Tabala(Stable). The trail is then simple but more beautiful then after. The encounter of Tamang Villages and Prayer flags and Water Ghatta. On the last part of Day, a suspension bridge over a small stream is crossed. Langtang Village at about 3500 is reached.

Day 7: Langtang Village To Kyanjing (3870m)

This will take 3 hours to reach the destination. The trail is slightly steep and we should reach Kyanjing at time of lunch because it will have advantage for acclimatization. At the Kyanjing, we can visit a government run cheese factory. At the end of the day, the spectacular views of Himalayan range can be enjoyed.

Day 8: Rest Day

This is the rest day to explore in and around. You will be visiting the monasteries.and capturing the scence . you will be serve with soups and local cheese. It will be a preparation day for a big leap which is coming tomorrow.

Day 9: Kyanjing Gompa to Lama Hotel

On this day, the trail will take 6 hours. You retrace back to ghoda tabela and from there you descend downhill.

Day 10: Lama Hotel To Syabru Besi

This will take 5 hours. The whole day would be occupied with panoramic views of mountain and jungles. This trail is smooth and the trekkers can observe the Tamang community with Tibetian culture.

Day 11: Syabrubesi To Kathmandu

A good drive would take 5-6 hours to reach back to Kathmandu. The Van will be there for your conveyance and will receive you from the hotel.

Day 12: Free Day

On this free day,you can take rest, have slight walk you can buy some gifts to take back as memory and you can visit the heritage sites or enjoy clubbing at the tourist port which is basically known as Thamel

Day 13: Departure From Kathmandu

This is the official ending day of this splendid journey. As we know the visit was short, but a memorable for the lifetime, we will give you a warm farewell and drop you to the airport. Be proud because you accomplished your journey.
