Overview
Langtang Valley Trek is one of the most accessible highland sanctuaries from the Capital City Kathmandu. From the alpine vegetation to the visible mountains, the lush jungles are just enough to satiate the thirst of visitors who have a very tight time schedule. The unique lifestyle of people, the alpine scenery, the mountain range, the vegetation along the trail is the pickles on the plate. After the British mountaineer Bill Tilman described the Langtang valley as the most beautiful valley in the world, this region has been in the limelight for the trekkers and nature lovers. Although, Langtang trekking is full of adventure and rich experience, it is not too far from the Kathmandu valley. After a night stay at Kathmandu valley which is itself a rich site for cultural and natural heritage, we can begin the Langtang trekking. The Langtang region is majorly occupied by the Tamang community; an ethnic group of mountains. The region is rich in flora and fauna. The whole journey is memorable because you can explore the culture of Tamang community in one hand and in other the beauty of Langtang National park is just ineffable. There is cheese factory too and the cheese is not normal one because it is made from the Yak milk; Yak is a unique mammal found in high Himalayas. After 2015, the conditions of Langtang region turned into worse. The loss of wildlife and humans occurred. The Langtang region is in the process of recovery. While, visiting Langtang region, one individual also will be contributing to this pristine region for recovery and healing. Musk deer, Monkeys, Pika, and National bird Danphe are the species which are most common inside Langtang National park. Although, these species are common here but if we talk about national scenario, these species are rare and much endangered. The green meadows will be covered with Yak grazing over there and the swifts of mountain winds will blow your exhaust and stress away. The whole valley is covered with flowers in summer. The region is near to the Tibet border and we can see a lot of influences in the culture and living style of people. In this region there are a lot of tea houses and local home stays. This trek is of moderate difficulty so that acclimatization won’t be a problem because for most of the times the trekkers would be less than 4000m. The gorges, the wilderness, the stupas, the people lifestyle we cross them all along with monasteries and Chhortens. After the devastating Earthquake of 2015, causing the loss of 300 lives, Langtang valley has been rebuilt and Langtang is now back in the business. The following itinerary is for those trekkers who would love to move in the trail comfortably and with more ease.
